Dr Deb Racklyeft has had an extraordinary career.  At 16 years of age, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, and her treatment involved amputation of her right leg.  As a horse enthusiast, she was unsure of what her future would hold but with inspiration from the horse and the mentors in her life, she enrolled in veterinary science at Sydney University. In her final year, she was so impressed with the efforts and dedication of the team under Prof Hutchins in developing the Sydney Uni floatation pool for management of a fractured cannon that she started her career with an internship at the USyd Rural Veterinary Centre.  What followed was a life of learning, from her internship followed a residency in equine medicine and a PhD which saved the lives of horses by identifying the contribution of transportation to the development of respiratory disease.   Her story is an honest recount of an extraordinary career and life with horses, science, and learning. Truly touching – don’t miss it – Listen NOW. Merry Christmas from EVA
